Our Grooming Policies

Grooming PoliciesšŸ©7

Please read over everything carefully, so you are not surprised by any extra charges made to your account.  In order for your pet to have the best services at our salon, we have created a consent form to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Quickest way to make your Groomer Mad šŸ˜”

Please do not show up to check and see if your dog is finished.  If I have not contacted you, your pup is not finished.  If I give you a projected time - please do not show up for pick up.  This was only an estimate.  Unexpected things happen: pee, poop, customers, walk in toe nail trimming; I will contact you when your dog is almost finished.

Please do not park out front and wait for your dog.  They can hear you when you are driving home from a mile away, they definitely know when you are outside waiting.  The reason I ask this from you is because once they know you are here, they start acting out.  They try and jump off my table, jump around, fidget, pull and sometimes bite.  They will also continually stare out the door and window at you.  It is hard to groom their face when they won't look at me or give me their sole attention.  I am using VERY sharp scissors during this time and it makes my job 1000 times more difficult and dangerous when you arrive early.  Please, for the safety of myself, my staff and your pet, do not arrive until I contact you.

Re-do Policy
If you are unhappy with the results of your dogā€™s grooming, contact us within 7 days and we will re-do the grooming by appointment at no additional charge.

Cancellation Policy ** Important **
Please notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Leaving a message on the business answering machine, a private message, or a text message is sufficient.

Clients who cancel less than 24 hours before their appointment or who do not show up for a scheduled appointment, will be charged 50% of your groom. We reserve the right to decline future appointments for clients who fail to show up or cancelled their scheduled appointments 3 times in a calendar year without adequate prior notice.

Dematting Policy
We give you 10 minutes of free mat removal during your groom; after 10 minutes we charge $15.00 for every 15 minutes to brush out mats. Please note that we reserve the right to decline dematting a heavily matted dog. Removing a matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the petā€™s skin allowing mold, fungus and bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. After effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, hematomas, irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.

Late Policy ā°
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your appointment time. In order to ensure that we have enough time to work on your pet, it is extremely important to be punctual for your appointment. If you are late by 15 minutes, we may have to cancel and reschedule for another day. Our schedule is very tight and every minute counts when grooming your pet. Ideally walking through the door at your agreed upon
appointment time, works best.

Re-washing Policy
Prior to your petsā€™ groom we respectfully request that you to walk your dog 30 minutes before your appointment time. By doing this it helps keep them calm and allows them to eliminate so they donā€™t do that during their grooming session. If your dog has a problem ā€˜holding itā€™ while grooming, I recommend no food, and very little water 12 hours prior to the groom.

Should your pet eliminate or urinate while it is under our care and requires a rewash, there will be a fee of $10 or more depending on the amount of time it takes to rewash. If a rewash is not required we will simply clean it up and not charge any fee, but please be mindful that this fee is to account for the extra time as the groomer/bather will be behind on their schedule.

Special Handling Policy
We will make every attempt to groom uncooperative or aggressive dogs, but we may not be able to complete grooming on dogs that pose a threat to themselves, other dogs, or our staff. We reserve the right to decline a return appointment for dogs whose behavior or temperament makes it unsafe for us to groom them. An extra handling fee may also apply to dogs with health issues or older dogs as it will take extra time to groom.

Flea Policy šŸœ
We do not groom dogs with fleas, lice, or other pest infestations. Pest prevention is in an option, BUT, if fleas or lice are found during the blow-dry, you will be charged $100 PLUS the cost of your groom. When Lice or Fleas are found after the blow-dry, I must cancel all dogs for the day, and thoroughly disinfect my room. Flea shampoos DO NOT WORK and are very unsafe. It is your responsibility to give prevention. If we find them during the bath there is a charge to cover the cost of loss of income due to sending your pet home. This charge is usually $25 - $50, depending on original price of dog.
